MS Dhoni becomes the first wicketkeeper to 100 ODI stumpings: MS Dhoni once again added another badge to his jersey as he became the first cricketer in ODI history who has completed 100 stumping. Dhoni did achieve this record on fifth ODI against Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Akila Dananjaya was 100th Dhoni’s hunt through the stump.

Dhoni was 2 stumps behind the legend man Kumar Sangakkara ahead of 2nd ODI. Kumar Sangakkara was carrying 99 stump world records that he overtook during 2nd ODI and finally, he crossed Sangakkara during 5th ODI.

As you might know, wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara retired in 2015. He was having 99 stumping records till retirement from cricket. Dhoni stumping figure was chasing holding the second position. At third position another wicketkeeper batsman Romesh Kaluwitharana from Sri Lanka. Moin Khan recorded 73 from Pakistan at 4th position. Gilchrist in 5th position recorded 55 stomping hunt.

Sounds like Dhoni’s record is unlikely to be beaten. Currently playing cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim from Bangladesh is the second bat far behind than Dhoni. He has done 40 stumpings in 176 ODIs.

An interesting part in Dhoni’s stumpings is that most stumpings have come off Harbhajan Singh – 19. After then Ravindra Jadeja, 15 stumpings.
